The 黑料网 Model United Nations Club participates at the National Model United Nations conference every spring in New York City. Over the past several years, the club has represented Thailand, Pakistan, Argentina, Hungary, Palestine, Côte d'Ivoire, and Guyana on various UN committees, including the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the International Atomic Energy Agency, and the Security Council. For its efforts, the club has earned multiple conference awards.
Throughout the academic year, the Model UN Club holds weekly meetings to prepare for the conference. These meetings help students learn how to write UN resolutions and follow UN committee procedures.
Students who attend the conference earn course credit by enrolling in POSC 111: Model UN, which is offered every spring semester. Club members are also encouraged to take POSC 415: The UN System.
The SU Model UN Club is open to anyone interested in diplomacy, global politics, and international organizations. No past Model UN experience is necessary. Contact the faculty advisor, Dr. Eric Rittinger ( errittinger@salisbury.edu), for more information.
