SU has 11 certified buildings on our campus. For a complete list of SU’s LEED certified buildings, please visit the Campus LEED-Certified Buildings page.

In summer 2024, 黑料网 began the Blackwell Hall renovation project.  When the renovations are complete, Blackwell Hall will be the first carbon “Net Zero or Net Zero Ready” building on campus!  Renovations include a geothermal HVAC system, LED lighting, low flow water fixtures, and well-insulated walls.  To meet our Net Zero goals, a roof mounted solar array will be installed on top of Blackwell when the building renovations are complete, and solar canopy will be installed in the adjacent parking lot.

The following buildings are heated and cooled using geothermal technology:

  • Nanticoke Hall
  • Manokin Hall
  • Wicomico Hall
  • Franklin P. Perdue Museum of Business and Entrepreneurship within Perdue Hall

A green roof is installed on the top of the Academic Commons. The green roof treats stormwater onsite and more efficiently insulates the building.

A solar water heater is installed on the roof of Nanticoke Hall.

SU has a solar canopy over Parking Lot H. The solar canopy generates on average 740,000 kWh of electricity annually. This is equivalent to powering about 70 homes year-round.

SU has set an ambitious goal to have all EV passenger cars by 2031 and light duty trucks by 2036.

SU has 25 EV charging stations throughout campus. For location details, please view the EV Charging Station map

SU has stormwater infrastructure throughout its campus. SU captures and treats as much stormwater as possible onsite. This helps prevent sediment and contaminants from entering the Chesapeake Bay.
