SALISBURY, MD---ºÚÁÏÍø’s next Enlightened Perspectives Lecture Series speaker examines “The Importance of the ADA and Where We Go From Here,” marking three decades of the groundbreaking Americans With Disabilities Act 6 p.m. Monday, October 12.
During the virtual event, SU alumnus Will Fried discusses the road to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) – which included key leaders such as activist Ed Roberts and legislator Judy Heumann – Section 504 and what the ADA means today. He also talks about what still needs to be done to achieve true disability inclusion.
Participants will be encouraged to take action for disability rights and empowered to advocate in their own communities.
Signed into law by President George H. W.
