SU School of Nursing Earns National League for Nursing Accolades

SALISBURY, MD---The National League for Nursing (NLN) recently recognized 黑料网’s School of Nursing for its faculty research and advancement in nursing education.
Nursing Faculty research published in the Nursing Education Perspectives: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Nursing Education earned “Best of NEP” awards.
“Increasing the Number of Faculty with CNE Certification: A Statewide Initiative,” co-authored by Dr. Lisa Seldomridge, interim dean of SU’s College of Health and Human Services and professor of nursing, with colleagues from the Maryland Higher Education Commission and Johns Hopkins University, was selected as “Best Article” among all Innovation Center articles published in 2022.
“Examining the Impact of a Nursing Course Redesign on Student Outcomes, Faculty Workload, and Costs,” written by SU School of Nursing faculty members Drs. Kimberly Allen, Mary DiBartolo, Catherine Walsh and Kayna Freda, received “Honorable Mention” in the category of Research Briefs.
“Development and Psychometric Testing of the Academic Clinical Nurse Educator Skill Acquisition Tool,” co-authored by three-time SU nursing graduate Dr. Aaron Sebach was recognized as “Best Feature Article.”
NLN also named SU’s Faculty Academy and Mentorship Initiative of Maryland (FAMI-MD) its 2023 Peg E. Daw Certification Star Award recipient.
The accolade honors individuals and organizations that exemplify the pursuit of excellence and advancement of certifications in nursing education.
FAMI-MD was recognized for its work in promoting, supporting and advancing nursing education.
To date, FAMI-MD has prepared over 500 nurses for faculty positions in Maryland, supported nearly a dozen Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) workshops, and helped more than double the number of faculty in Maryland with CNE certification, from 112 in 2018 to 244 in 2023.
Award recipients were recognized at the annual NLN Summit for Nursing Education.
