Adams Earns Academy of Management Honors
SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Stephen Adams of the Management and Marketing Department of 黑料网’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business recently earned one of the Academy of Management’s top honors—the Best Reviewer Award.
Adams received the accolade during the academy’s 2010 conference in Montreal. He peer-reviewed five papers submitted for possible presentation at the conference, and was recognized for the work he did on papers for the organization’s management history division.
As for the procedure: “The main thing is to answer the question ‘So what?’” he said. “Why do we care about this paper? What does it say that hasn’t been said before? How much of the information is new, and is it valuable?”
The academy seeks reviewers with extensive backgrounds and knowledge in their field. Adams said in addition to assisting the academy, his duties as a volunteer aid him professionally, as well.
“Being a reviewer helps you stay current in your field,” he said. “These are going to be the people who write the next innovative articles and books in the field.”
