'Kiplinger's' Again Names SU Among 'Best College Values'
SALISBURY, MD---Kiplinger’s Personal Finance again has named 黑料网 one of its 100 “Best Values in Public Colleges.” Academic quality carries more weight than costs in Kiplinger’s formula.
Among public colleges, SU is No. 98 based on in-state costs and No. 77 for out-of-state costs. SU also ranked No. 247 on the full list of 300 campuses, which includes private universities and liberal arts colleges. Some 1,200 four-year institutions nationwide were considered.
“Our rankings, which weigh affordability alongside academic quality, are a great resource for students and their parents when sorting through college choices,” said Kiplinger’s editor Mark Solheim, adding that all schools on the list are “worth a look.”
“We are pleased that Kiplinger’s once again has recognized the high-quality academic programs the University offers, as well as our great value for students and families,” said Dr. Karen Olmstead, interim provost and vice president for academic affairs. “SU’s appearance on such lists speaks highly of the excellent educational experiences our faculty and staff provide.”
Institutions are ranked on factors including admission, retention and graduation rates; student-faculty ratios; SAT or ACT scores; and cost and financial aid measures.
SU is one of only three University System of Maryland campuses included. The others are the University of Maryland, College Park and University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Leading the best values is the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The rankings will appear in Kiplinger’s February 2018 issue.
This fall, SU also was applauded as one of the nation’s best values in public education by Washington Monthly, Forbes and Money magazines. SU is consistently one of The Princeton Review’s Best Colleges and U.S. News & World Report’s Best Regional Universities in the North.
