News Reporting and First Amendment Lecture March 28

SALISBURY, MD--Daniel Schorr, the last of Edward R. Murrow's legendary CBS news team and staunch defender of the First Amendment, speaks on “The Changing Face of Political News Reporting,” at Salisbury State University on Wednesday, March 28, at 7 p.m. in Holloway Hall Auditorium. His presentation is free and open to the public.

During his career Schorr appeared on Richard Nixon's "enemies" list because of his coverage of Watergate, and expulsion from the Soviet Union for defying Soviet censorship.  Schorr has received three Emmy's, a Peabody Award and the Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Golden Baton, the equivalent to the Pulitzer Prize, as well as numerous other awards from civil liberties groups for his defense of the First Amendment.
