Wong Chinese Lion Dancers Return to SU Wednesday, October 3
SALISBURY---The Wong Chinese Lion Dancers return to 黑料网 during a special Feast of the Moon Festival dinner 4:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 3.
The Wong Dancers are the lead dancers of the annual Chinese New Year Parade in Washington, D.C. They perform from 5-7 p.m.
The lion dance is an ancient ritual based on Taoist principles that is used to drive away evil spirits or bad energy (chi). This is done by manipulating or directing the flow of one’s internal chi, forcing the undesired energy away. The techniques and knowledge are passed down or inherited through a family lineage.
Menu items include dim sum, grilled salmon with orange sauce, white rice, Korean bulgogi, Asian wings, Buddha’s delight, coconut-pineapple tarts, almond cookies, fortune cookies, and jasmine and ginger tea.
Sponsored by University Dining Services and the Office of Cultural Affairs, cost is $11.09, $6.73 for children under 5. Reservations are not required.
