Worcester County Commissioners Honor Small Business Development Center Eastern Region

Presentation of AwardSALISBURY, MD---The Worcester County Commissioners recently honored the Maryland Small Business Development Center (SBDC) with a proclamation for the center’s partnership with Worcester County Economic Development (WDEC).

The proclamation was made as part of a focus on Economic Development Week. Accepting it were John Hickman, SBDC Eastern Region director; Tim Sherman, SBDC business consultant; and Lachelle Scarloto, WCED deputy director.

The SBDC-WDEC partnership creates jobs and promotes economic growth in the Worcester County area. For the past three years, the WCED office suite in Snow Hill has hosted an SBDC location, providing service to the local business community.

Hosted by 黑料网, the Eastern Region of the SBDC is an outreach of the Franklin P. Perdue School of Business, dedicated to helping establish and expand small businesses throughout the Eastern Shore.

Through professional training and no-fee confidential business consulting service for start-up and growth ventures, the SBDC helps to develop and refine business plans, solve problems, find sources of capital and develop strategies to support growth and profitability.

Collaborating with the Perdue School, the center offers a practicum course for students to assist with consulting and receive real life knowledge on operating a small business in Maryland.

The Maryland SBDC has assisted local businesses since 1988 by providing sound advice and consulting support to current and aspiring entrepreneurs. The Maryland SBDC Network is a partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration, the State of Maryland and the University of Maryland, College Park.
