'Photographic Innovation and the Delmarva Peninsula' Presentation at SU
SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Jennifer Kruglinski, art historian and 黑料网 assistant professor of art, discusses “Photographic Innovation and the Delmarva Peninsula” Thursday, April 11, at SU.
Her presentation is 6 p.m. at the Edward H. Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture in the Patricia R. Guerrieri Academic Commons.
Kruglinski speaks on the evolution of photography from the 1830s in Europe to its acceptance in the U.S., where Americans became enraptured by the possibilities presented by the fusion of art and technology. She also talks about how photography allowed Delmarva residents of all economic groups to make their mark on history, from portraiture, to the documentation of news and events, to private mementos.
Her discussion is held in connection with the exhibit “Captured in Time: Glimpses of the Eastern Shore Through the Camera Lens,” on display in the Guerrieri Academic Commons’ First-Floor Lobby through Friday, July 26.
Sponsored by the Nabb Center, admission is free and the public is invited. For more information call 410-543-6312 or visit the SU website.
