Important Information Regarding Campus Access and COVID-19 Testing
Members of the 黑料网 Community,
As we return to campus and prepare for the upcoming spring semester the following reminders are provided for your awareness:
Building Access
From now until Sunday, January 24, entry to all SU buildings will be limited to those with authorized Gull Card access. All students enrolled in winter or spring courses have access to academic buildings.
Access to shared academic, administrative and recreational facilities, including the Guerrieri Academic Commons, Holloway Hall and Maggs Physical Activities Center, will remain available to all Gull Card holders. Per SU’s COVID-19 policies, SU community members who are on campus must have their Gull Cards visible at all times via lanyard or other device.
COVID-19 Testing
To maintain access to campus buildings, SU community members must continue to have a negative result from an SU-administered COVID-19 test every 30 days. Those returning to campus following winter break should schedule a test for the week they return, regardless of their last testing date. All students and employees are required to get tested within seven days of their return to campus. Those returning for the spring semester are expected to be tested by Friday, January 29. Building access for those not tested will be removed beginning Monday, February 1. Testing dates through the end of January are now available. Students and employees should sign up for their tests as soon as possible.
Employees returning to campus after January should schedule a test for the first week that they will be back on campus. February testing dates will be made available soon. All students are encouraged to get tested before returning to Salisbury to prevent the spread of COVID-19 on campus and limit disruption for those who test positive.
Testing is conducted in the Great Hall in Holloway Hall. Students and employees must enter from the exterior of the Great Hall; the entrance is located next to Student Health Services, on the side facing Blackwell Hall.
While SU testing is required for access to campus, students and employees should report any positive test result to Campus Health. Resources are provided to members of the campus community regardless of where the test is taken.
Residential Students
Students moving into campus housing beginning January 20 should use the link in the email they received notifying them of their move-in date to schedule an SU-administered test for that date. Remember that your move-in date is based on your test day and time.
Upcoming testing dates include January 12-13 and 19-29. Tests must be scheduled in advance at www.salisbury.edu/covidtestingsignup.
All residential students are required to get tested within five days before move-in.
The pre-arrival test is in addition to the test that you will take at SU. This is meant to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the residence halls and limit housing and course disruption for those who test positive. Once you get tested, you should soft quarantine until move-in to mitigate your risk of contracting COVID-19. More information on testing for residential students and what to do if you cannot get a test at home is forthcoming from the Office of Campus Housing and Residence Life.
Maryland Travel Restrictions
In late December, Governor Hogan issued an emergency order requiring Marylanders to limit all travel to essential purposes only. Those who travel outside of Maryland, and those from other states entering Maryland, must obtain a negative COVID-19 test result (must quarantine while waiting) or self-quarantine for 10 days. This applies to all states with the exceptions of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, D.C.
The is available online.
Following these guidelines, any students or employees who are not from the states on the exemption list must have a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of coming to Maryland or quarantine until they receive a negative result from an SU test.
COVID-19 Vaccine Information
The University is working closely with the Maryland Department of Health, the University System of Maryland and local healthcare partners on a vaccination plan that will be made available to students, faculty and staff. Please monitor your SU email for more information, including an authorization form that will allow you to indicate your interest in and consent to receiving the vaccine.
At this time, students and employees who have been vaccinated will continue to participate in SU’s testing protocols.
Students and employees should contact Campus Health immediately if they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or fail the daily screening – they should not come to campus until they are cleared to do so.
