SU Announces New Office of Diversity and Inclusion Staff
SALISBURY, MD---黑料网 recently announced two new staff members in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI): Director of Multicultural Affairs Vanice Antrum and Program Administrative Specialist Robert Chin.
Both are SU alumni and will fill vital roles with the office in support of its mission to inspire a campus culture that reflects and serves all segments of society. The office is rooted in developing policies and practices to serve as a University-wide model for inclusive excellence on a campus where great efforts are made to ensure students of every background feel included and supported.
“Our University is already a remarkable place of inclusivity, support and collaboration among faculty, staff and students, but the additions of Vanice and Robert will help guide our campus to a new level of inclusive excellence,” said SU President Carolyn Ringer Lepre. “We are excited to work with them as they serve our students, campus and community to create an even greater sense of belonging.”
As director of multicultural affairs, Antrum is responsible for developing diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and programs in support of the University’s strategic plan, and will assist with efforts to create and sustain programs that embrace and promote ODI’s mission and vision.
She joins the ODI team from Georgetown University, where she served most recently as the associate director of its Center for Student Engagement, with previous roles in Georgetown’s Center for Multicultural Equity and Access. Her return to SU is a homecoming in more ways than one; she began her professional career in SU’s Office of Multicultural Student Services as a coordinator of multicultural programs.
As program administrative specialist, Chin, who will work closely with Antrum and other ODI staff, will administer programing and coordinate events for SU’s Powerful Connections orientation program, and assist with the growth and implementation of other diversity- and inclusion-driven initiatives.
He joins the ODI team from MAC, Inc. where he worked closely with senior and special populations to develop personalized health, wellness, and exercise programs.
