SU Community Members Perform in 'Messiah' Sing-Along December 18

St. Peter's Episcopal ChurchSALISBURY, MD---黑料网 faculty, staff, students and alumni play significant roles in the Messiah community sing-along 6:30 p.m. Sunday, December 18, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in downtown Salisbury.

The community is invited to sing the choral sections of Handel鈥檚 signature work, led by soloists from the Maryland Opera and SU alumna Jennifer Hope Wills, who starred in Phantom of the Opera on Broadway, among other success.

Singing in the choral sections are Dr. Jeanne Whitney (History), Gerry Wood (formerly of the SU Bookstore), Thomas Snyder (alumnus) and Dornell Woolford (alumnus), according to St. Peter鈥檚 Music Director Daniel Cherrix.聽 The chamber orchestra also includes familiar faces: members of the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra at SU, according to Eric Shuster (Music, Theatre and Dance). Playing with him are Alanna Imes (nursing student) and Chris Sajadi (alumnus).

The Messiah sing-along was inspired by the late Dr. Ray Zeigler (emeritus, Music), who conducted it at SU several years ago, Cherrix said.

Admission to the two-hour performance (including intermission) is free; seating is first come-first served.聽 Audiences may bring scores or buy one at the door for $10. The church is located at 115 St. Peter鈥檚 St.
