SU's Egan Edits New 'Transformative Women Leaders' Book Series

SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Chrys Egan, associate dean of 黑料网’s Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts, has been noted for her leadership on campus.

Now, she is part of a team showcasing important examples of female leadership through a new book series.

Egan joins Drs. Randal Joy Thompson of Fielding University and Dionne Rosser-Mims of Troy University in editing the series Transformative Women Leaders for the International Leadership Association (ILA), from Emerald Publishing.

Between 2014-2018, ILA published the series Women Leadership: Theory and Practice, which filled a gap in scholarship about women’s leadership theory, research and practice.

“This new series builds on the previous series of books, exploring transformative women leaders to inspire and support diverse leaders and leadership styles in an interconnected world,” said Egan. “It is important that we recognize women leaders and encourage those in future generations to pursue leadership roles.”

The series celebrates women leaders and the leadership styles they employ to achieve success. It will highlight successful context-specific leadership approaches, and the moral qualities of endurance and “taking the high road.” Editors hope the series also serves as a model and inspiration for young women leaders entering the workforce and women leaders currently facing challenges, and provides community for women leaders around the world.

The first volume, Genderwashing in Leadership: Power, Policies and Politics, will be published in 2023.
