Environmental Studies Colloquium This Fall at SU

SALISBURY, MD---黑料网’s Environmental Studies Colloquium Series returns this fall with three presentations 7 p.m. select Wednesdays during the semester.

Topics include:

  • September 6, Henson Science Hall Room 243 - “Internship Experiences”: Students share their internship experiences from the past year.
  • September 27, Henson Science Hall Room 243 – “A Flood of Memories: How Remembering Tropical Storm Agnes Can Build Resilient Communities”: Andrew Stuhl ’03, associate professor and chair of the Environmental Studies and Sciences Department at Bucknell University, and theatre artist Gerard Stropnicky revisit 1972’s Tropical Storm Agnes and the lessons it has for today.
  • November 8, Patricia R. Guerrieri Academic Commons Assembly Hall – “A Passion for Oysters: Screening and Discussion”: Tom Horton, SU environmental studies professor of practice, with the filmmaking team of Dave Harp, Sandy Cannon Brown and Richard Anderson, examines the Chesapeake Bay’s oysters through farms, free-range watermen, the world’s biggest sanctuaries and a robust presence of science and environmentalists. Dr. Michael Lewis, SU professor of environmental studies, frames the discussion with broader perspectives relating to public/private use of land (and water) historically and globally. This event is co-sponsored by SU’s Edward H. Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture.
