'Deep Roots' Concert at SU February 9

SALISBURY, MD---黑料网 hosts the concert “Deep Roots” exploring the roots of America’s original music - spirituals and jazz, and the cultures from which those genres originated 7:30 p.m. Friday, February 9, in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall. 

Local artists Ashley Watkins, flute, and Veronica Tomanek, piano, present works by African-American composers William Grant Still, Valerie Coleman, Marietta Simpson & Evelyn Simpson-Curenton, and Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson. Also on the program is music from Claude Bolling’s “Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano,” where the duo will be joined by SU’s Eric Shuster on drums and Lee Knier on bass.

Tickets are $10, $5 for seniors. Faculty, staff and students are admitted free. Tickets are available through SU’s online box office.

Those planning to park on campus must register in advance for a free parking pass.
