Calo Volunteers With American Bankers Association School

SALISBURY, MD---Early in his career, Thomas Calo worked for the American Bankers Association (ABA).
Now a member of the management and marketing faculty of 黑料网’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business, he still works for the ABA—he just isn’t on the payroll.

Calo recently received recognition for his 12th year as a volunteer capstone coordinator for the association’s Stonier Graduate School of Banking. The nation’s oldest professional banking education association, the ABA offers a three-summer program for banking professionals, culminating with a capstone project. Normally, the capstone is tied to a project at the professional’s employing bank, Calo said. Recent examples have included succession planning and employee recruitment. As an advisor, Calo helps shepherd the research process from the proposal stage to the final paper, which he grades.

“It’s a way I can contribute to those in the banking industry who are at the point in their careers when they may find this beneficial toward promotion or other incentives,” said Calo.
