SU Art Galleries Presents 'Colors and Things' February 6-March 29

Colors and Things ExhibitionSALISBURY, MD---To chase those winter blues away, the SU Art Galleries presents the lively exhibition “Colors and Things” February 6-March 29 at the University Gallery of 黑料网’s Fulton Hall.

Artists Allie Rex (Brooklyn, NY), Mary Anne Arntzen (Baltimore) and Nathan Green (Dallas, TX) playfully question form and meaning through their abstract works. These artists weave together the illusory and the actual creating ecstatic patterns and happy accidents.

Green will be on campus the first week in February, creating new, site-specific murals in the gallery. An artist lecture with Green is 5 p.m. Thursday, February 6, in Fulton Hall Room 111, followed by a reception in the gallery at 6 p.m.

Green earned his B.F.A. from the University of Texas at Austin. A founding member of the Okay Mountain Collective, he has presented works at galleries in New York, Los Angeles and New Orleans, among others. An assistant curator at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, he also has exhibited at the Austin Museum of Art and participated in artist-in-residence programs in several states.

Sponsored by University Art Galleries, admission is free and the public is invited. Gallery hours are noon-6 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, noon-4 p.m. Saturday, other times by appointment.
