SU hosts a bus trip to see the “Costumes of Downton Abbey” exhibit at Delaware’s Winterthur Museum on Saturday, October 25. The display includes 40 historically inspired costumes used in filming the series, depicting a fictional aristocracy in early 20th-century Britain. Shown in the United States on PBS, the show holds the record for the most Primetime Emmy Award nominations (27) of any international series.
Costumes are supplemented by photographs and vignettes inspired by the series and by real life at Winterthur during the first half of the 20th century.
The bus departs SU at 8 a.m., leaving from the museum at 5 p.m. Tickets are $40 for SU students, faculty and staff, $55 for the greater community, available beginning Monday, September 22, at the Guerrieri University Center Information Desk. Cost includes the Winterthur garden and house tour, and a two-hour timed entry into the exhibit.
