SU Marketing Students to Attend AMA's International Collegiate Conference

SALISBURY, MD---Thanks to the recent generosity of several sponsors, students in 黑料网’s chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) will attend the organization’s 30th annual International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans in April.

Corporate donations from both Enterprise Rent-a-Car and the AMA’s Baltimore chapter will allow the SU chapter to purchase several plane tickets.

“I was pleasantly surprised by the generosity of our sponsors,” said senior Madison Sutphin, director of events for SU’s AMA chapter.

She, along with SU junior Dan Lefever and seniors Jamie Martin, Jessica Powell and Nisa Cummings devised a plan for SU’s AMA chapter to solicit donations from potential corporate sponsors by offering incentives.  Their plan was part of a project for a Sales Management class taught by Howard Dover of SU’s Management and Marketing Department.

The incentives are based on a tiered program that hierarchically allocates benefits according to a sponsor’s donation amount.  With a donation of $1,000, Enterprise Rent-a-Car is considered a “gold” sponsor. The benefits of this distinction include a logo displayed prominently on club shirts and banner that members will take to the AMA conference.  It also allows a company representative to speak at AMA meeting at SU.

“Members of SU’s AMA chapter still need help reaching their goal of taking 20 members to the national conference,” said President Caitlin Keller, an SU senior.  “We appreciate any donation, whatever the amount.”
A national organization for marketing professionals, the AMA’s collegiate conference brings together more than 1,000 marketing students and faculty for career and leadership training, networking and fun.

SU’s AMA chapter meets at 3:30 p.m. every other Thursday in the Perdue School of Business. The next meeting is February 7.
