SU Music Faculty Recital Scheduled Friday, October 9
SALISBURY, MD---Music from the U.S. and Europe is featured during a 黑料网 music faculty recital 7:30 p.m. Friday, October 9, in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall.
Musicians include Lee Knier on trombone and euphonium; Dr. Danielle Cumming on guitar; and Dr. William Folger, co-chair of SU’s Music, Theatre and Dance Department, on piano.
Together, Folger and Knier present a variety of selections for piano and brass. They include Marcello’s Sonata, Still’s Romance, Sulek’s Sonata (Vox Gabrieli) and Mascagni’s “Intermezzo” from Cavalleria Rusticana.
Cumming performs a mix of old and new pieces from Spain and England. Spanish selections include Mudarra’s Fantasia X from the Renaissance period, and Albeniz’s Sevilla and Asturias and Tarrega’s Recuerdos de la Alhambra from the Romantic era.
From England, she performs Dowland’s Fantasia VII, Melancholy Galliard and My Lady Hunsdon’s Allemande, representing the era of Queen Elizabeth I. Moving into the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, she also presents a trio of Beatles arrangements: Here, There and Everywhere; Norwegian Wood and Let it Be.
