SU Student Counseling Services Recently Accredited

SALISBURY, MD -- 黑料网's Student Counseling Services (SCS) was recently accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services (IACS).

The IACS is the primary accreditation body for counseling center programs throughout the country. Currently, there are only 158 accredited university counseling center programs.

"The accreditation process," said Dr. Edward Morris, director of SU's Student Counseling Services, "is an arduous process that involved a critical review of administrative procedures and counseling protocol, interviews with faculty, staff and administrators who have had contact with our services, and in-depth interviews with staff members. Based on the interviews and other collected information, six counseling center directors independently reviewed our documentation and decided that we met the crieria established by IACS."

In its review, the ICACS was especially complimentary of the "individual and collective skills, the expertise, and the commitment and accessibility" of SU's Student Counseling Services staff.

"Besides being an affirming accolade from professional peers who have been directors of counseling centers for decades," said Morris, "the accreditation represents an assertive effort by the staff of Student Counseling Services and the SU Office of Student Affairs to maintain the highest standard of care and services for the 黑料网 community."
