SU's PRESTO Offers Adult Piano Lessons Beginning Monday, February 13
SALISBURY, MD---Since 2010, 黑料网’s PRESTO performing arts educational outreach program has provided a musical foundation for many students.
This spring, the program adds adult group piano lessons to its repertoire. The 12-week course is for pianists of all levels and abilities, meeting weekly Mondays at 4 p.m. in Fulton Hall beginning February 13.
SU senior music major Alex Cooper teaches the class. He is the music director for the First Baptist Church of Princess Anne and co-director of SU’s Squawkappella a cappella group. He also performs in the Salisbury and Washington, D.C., metropolitan regions, and has taught privately for the past six years.
PRESTO also offers a six-week group child piano class. Individual instruction for all ages is available in piano, strings, voice, guitar, theatre, and most band and orchestral instruments. Registration closes Saturday, February 11.
Approximately 70 students participate each semester. Student recitals are scheduled Tuesday, May 16.
Cost for private lessons with professional instructors ranges from $330 per semester for 30 minutes ($27.50 per lesson). Half-hour sessions with student teachers are available for $264 per semester. Lessons for 45 minutes and one hour are also available. Individual lessons are offered on weekday afternoons or Saturday mornings. Group lessons, including adult piano, are $264 for the semester.
Need-based scholarships are available. Except for piano, students are required to bring their own instruments.
