SU Wind Ensemble Performs Opera, James Bond May 10"
class=""MsoNormal"">SALISBURY, MD---Opera, sea songs and James Bond are not the usual fare for a band concert.
class=""MsoNormal"">“The audience may experience some selections that they did not anticipate hearing from a band,” said conductor Lee Knier about the 黑料网 Wind Ensemble’s annual spring concert 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, in Holloway Hall Auditorium.
class=""MsoNormal"">“We hope that our performance will be convincing to the point that the audience will enjoy the overall presentation though,” he added.
class=""MsoNormal"">“The variety of musical styles will include performances of traditional concert band selections, and some interesting marches,” such as “The Colonel Bogey March” from Bridge on the River Kwai and “Broadway One-Step March” by Karl King, an American circus band composer.
class=""MsoNormal"">Other selections include “Zampa Overture” from the opera Zampa, “Sea Songs” by the British composer R. Vaughan Williams, who based his inspiration on sea chanteys and folk songs, as well as a James Bond suite featuring songs from the world famous movies.
